Robert Small is a freelance journalist whose experience covers includes print, online, television, radio and photography. He currently writes about the NBA’s Sacramento Kings for Examiner.com Sacramento, He also attends Azusa Pacific University in the Los Angeles area.
Previously, Small wrote about the Kings' "Tyreke Evans for Rookie of the Year" campaign through Sacramento Press and ran a “Tyreke Tuesdays” weekly feature. He also wrote about the Kings for SacMidtown.com and Bleed Black Purple. He also wrote about local events for AOL's Patch.com in the Sacramento region and held internships at various news outlets in the city.
As a sophomore in high school, he gained interest in journalism and joined the Media Communications Academy at Center High School. While completing the three-year progam, he participated in the school’s television broadcast Channel 25 News and won the 2006 MCA Senior of the Year.
Small graduated from Sacramento City College with an Associate of Arts Journalism Publication Specialist degree, where he wrote for the student publication The Express and it‘s online website SacCityExpress.com. He earned a 2010 JACC Sports Game Story Honorable Mention during his tenure.
